What images move you emotionally? When an image affects your emotional state, does the image hold power over you in some way? 

Images of people or animals in pain or disastrous situations hold power over me and make me want to take action to fix the situation. I believe that humans in general cause our own pain but animals don’t have the same say and control that we do.

Is it the image itself or its context that gives the image its power? 

I believe in the saying that a picture is worth a thousand words, but of course context is just as important. You showed us those sewn art pieces and I believe that it would have been hard to understand what the artists were trying to convey without you telling us what those women were going through.

Discuss your 3 selected concepts in terms of power and for whom.

The Power/destruction of man: In this I would discuss the horror that man inflicts on its surroundings. I feel that man is praised for the smallest victories and wrongs are overlooked.

The power of art: In this statement I will talk about the power and influence of art. Art can positively influence people but it could also influence man in a negative way.

Time: There are many items in life that grab at your attention and try to take your time. At work you are literally paid for your time. I believe that time is the most valuable thing in existence. Without time there is nothing. You cant create and you can never buy more time. Everything else in life you can buy, create, earn, or find.
